A mountainous province adjoining Red River plains, with much of land roads and waterways linking with Phu Tho, Ha Tay, Ha Nam and Ninh Binh provinces, Hoa Binh is deemed the North West gate 76km distant from Hanoi capital in the South West.

The province included 10 districts and towns : Da Bac, Mai Chau, Tan Lai, Lac Son, Kim Boi, Luong Son, Lac Thuy, Yen Thuy, Ky Son and Hoa Binh municipality totalling to 214 commune ward and towns.

Hoa Binh 770,000 population include 7 ethnic groups : Muong, Kinh, Thai, Dao, Tay, H'mong, Hoa, in which Muong take around 60%, kinh around 30% Labour-

Trade and service activities with participation of many economic elements are increasingly animated. Much of beauty-sides, landscaped, cultural and historical relics and pagodas and temples - Kim Boi mineral springs, Lac Thuy Fairy pagoda, Da river lake zone, Mai Chau Lac hamlet, endemic forest part... may cause development of tourism service forms for home and foreign travelers.
